COSCA Strategic Plan Overview

The Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency will conduct a public review of the Draft Strategic Plan - Beyond 2013. The Agency will solicit your comments before finalizing the plan to take to the COSCA Board of Directors for adoption.

Conejo Open Space Challenge
Interested in fun photography and hiking/riding in our local open spaces? Well this is for you! Through May 1, 2013, you can compete for a chance to win great prizes from local businesses. All you have to do is take artistic photos on ten specified trails and submit them! Click here for more information on how to participate.

Arbor/Earth Day

Plan ahead and join us on April 13th for the annual celebration of Arbor/Earth Day at the Thousand Oaks Library, Conejo Creek Park North. Here, lovers of nature can spend time being acquainted with local organizations that serve to better the environment. Featuring live entertainment, animal shows, children's activities, the cause for kids art-a-thon, food vendors, compost workshops, free plants, and much more. With over 100 vendors, there will be plenty of activities for the whole family. For more information click here.

Volunteer Opportunities

Spring Trail Work Day

If you are interested in building new local trails, join us on Saturday March 23rd, in our Conejo Canyons Open Space. The rewards are endless! We are offering the creation of new trails along with a delicious lunch of hamburgers or veggieburgers, chips, fruits, drinks, and the camaraderie of other fellow trail enthusiasts! What more could you ask for?

Must be 18+ years of age to participate. No experience necessary. Tools and instructions will be provided. Wear protective clothing. Beware of poison oak, ticks & rattlesnakes.

Trails Education Days

The annual open space event for Conejo Valley Unified School District fifth-graders, is scheduled for the week of April 8-12, 2013. Volunteers are needed to lead hikers through a portion of the Oak Creek Canyon loop trail, to work with the "Safety and Courtesy" workshops, and to help with logistics and organization throughout the week.
