The Conejo Open Space Foundation is dedicated to helping preserve, promote and protect natural open space through community education and involvement. We support these efforts by fundraising and volunteer engagement.

(9/8/2024) - Come learn about native-plant gardening and design and get tips on living more sustainably, while the little ones discover entertaining facts about plants and animals and what kids can do to help the environment. Our. 30+ exhibitors will have fun, creative activities for children, including microscope explorations, touch-and-talk tables about wildlife, plus coloring and crafts like bracelet-making. In the Lakeside Pavilion at 11:00 a.m Animal Actors of Hollywood will introduce kids and adults to a selection to some of the creatures that call the open space home. Geologist Dr. Thomas Davis to Discuss Trailside Rock Formations and Faults in the Conejo Valley; New Date is Wed. Sept 18 (8/22/2024) - On Wednesday, September 18, geologist Dr. Thomas L. Davis will speak on "Trail Geology: A Look at Rock Formations, Faults and Landscapes in the Conejo Open Space.” He is the second guest in COSF’s 2024 Speaker Series. The presentation will be held via Zoom at 7:00 pm. Following it, there will be a moderated Q & A session for attendees. Dr. Davis is a California State registered geologist and founder and director of the nonprofit Geologic Maps Foundation, Inc. Dirty trashed Arroyo Conejo creek COSF Supports COSCA’s Arroyo Conejo Cleanup Pilot Project (9/10/2024) - COSF contributed $10,000 toward the Arroyo Conejo Trash Removal Project, which was completed in August. The final stats on the volume of trash collected are impressive—a whopping 13.4 tons (i.e., 26,800 pounds) of waste was removed by a specialty contractor. Clearing weeds on the Oakbrook Vista Trail for June’s trail work day (6/17/2024) - This past Saturday, June 15, about 15 volunteered help cut back the weeds on the side of the trail that were severely narrowing it. Mostly the blame lay with invasive mustard, but there was also star thistle, Italian thistle and an assortment of other invasive or native species to clear.
