On Thursday, Nov. 12th at 6:30 pm, renowned fire ecologist, Dr. Marti Wiitter will give an online presentation of the fire history of the Santa Monica Mountains, how plants and wildlife have recovered after recent fires and what role climate change is playing here and in other parts of California. Additionally, she’ll discuss how solutions to protect homes and landscapes may vary for different geographic areas in California and what will work best in our region.

Dr. Witter is a 35-year resident of the Santa Monica Mountains and has been the fire ecologist for the National Park Service in the Santa Monica Mountains since 2001.
