It’s New Map Monday: Oakbrook Vista & Hidden Meadow Trails

Published by Steve Clark on

Highlights

  •  Oakbrook Vista Trail quickly gains elevation to give a good view
over Oakbrook Regional Park and Lang Ranch Open Space to the north. You’ll get a
great view of Albertson Motorway as it winds it’s way up the hills.
  • Hidden Meadow Trail is really fun on a mountain bike
  • Hidden Meadow Trail has a great wildflower display in the spring
  • The Hidden Meadow Trail is a segment of the 2026 Conejo Open Space Challenge
(https://cosf.org/challenge; colored pink on the map below).

Description

This route is a moderate 5.2 mile out-and-back hike. We have it starting from Lang Ranch
Parkway, but you could just as well start from the Hidden Meadow trailhead at the west end of
Falling Star Avenue. On Oakbrook Vista Trail, the views will be north and down over the
neighborhood and Oakbrook Regional Park. On Hidden Meadow Trail the view will be up to the
rocky hills in the north that tower over the city and south/down over the North Ranch
neighborhood.

As an alternate route, you could take the ridgeline trail that parallels the top of Oakbrook
Vista Trail. Keep in mind the social trail is quite steep in sections and more rugged.

Key Statistics

Distance: 5.2 miles
Cumulative Climbing and Descent: About 1100′
Parking: Free on Lang Ranch Parkway at the trailhead
