New Speaker Series: Jaclyn DeSantis presents “Wild Neighbors: Raptors, Rehab, and the Human Connection”

Please join us November 19 for the live online presentation of “Wild Neighbors: Raptors, Rehabilitation, and the Human Connection” with Jaclyn DeSantis, education program manager at the Ojai Raptor Center. She will talk about how hawks, owls and eagles end up needing rehabilitation care, what that process involves, and what you can do to help our wild raptor neighbors survive and thrive.
DeSantis joined the Ojai Raptor Center in 2010 as the nonprofit’s first staff member. Over the next decade, she managed both the wildlife hospital and the education program. A decade later, the Center expanded, employing a staff veterinarian and hospital technicians for the first time. At that point, DeSantis moved to exclusively overseeing the education program. The program, which reaches thousands of individuals each year, focuses on teaching the significance of biodiversity and conservation, fostering a deeper concern for wildlife and promoting responsible stewardship of the environment.
DeSantis is a certified environmental educator with the California Association for Environmental & Outdoor Education (AEOE) and a licensed wildlife rehabilitator with the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council (IWRC).
The presentation will be Wednesday, November 19, at 7:00 pm, via Zoom. After the presentation, there will be a moderated Q & A session for attendees.
