Volunteer Spotlight – Nathan Lee
Nathan Lee is an attorney at Amgen who hits the Los Robles trails once or twice a week for exercise and to serve the community as a Trail Watch volunteer. After his rides, he submits quick online reports to the Conejo Park Rangers noting trail conditions, potentially dangerous situations, the number of other trail users he sees and wildlife sightings.
On top of that, the Conejo Open Space Foundation receives donations through the Amgen Volunteers program for the hours Nathan logs – totaling nearly $2,000 per year since 2013. Many local companies offer similar matching grant programs. For info, please check with your HR Department and the COSF site at cosf.org/volunteer.
Healthful exercise, spending time in nature hiking or riding, community service and financial support for open space – what could be better?
