The April 23rd Where in the Conejo contest photo was of the Hillcrest Ridge Trail
Congratulations to Elise Wilson of Canoga Park who provided the correct answer and was selected at random as the winner. This is the second week in a row that she’s won, and thanks to all who entered the contest!
The heart of stones in the photo is on the crest of a hill on the Hillcrest Ridge Trail. The trail can be a good conditioning hike with its sometimes steep ups and downs. Most contest entries identified the trail and the heart, so folks have been there and know it is without shade and should be done in the early morning during the summer heat. The form of the heart of stones has changed over the years. The pipe with its foundation may have once held a flag. This photo gallery shows how the formation has evolved.
