The April 10th Where in the Conejo Contest photo was of the Palomino Trail

Congratulations to Claudia Mitchell of Oxnard who provided the correct answer and was selected as the winner. Thanks to all who responded!

The Palomino Trail is in the Rancho Potrero Open Space area, one of the newer large areas in COSCA’s stable. It’s directly south of Dos Vientos and adjacent to Rancho Sierra Vista, an open space area belonging to the National Park service. In RSV, the Palomino Trail connects to the Ranch Overlook Trail that itself joins the Sycamore Canyon Trail in Point Mugu State Park. At the west end of the Rancho Potrero Open Space is the site of the former Olympia Farms, a private horse breeding ranch. The Olympia Farms site is hidden behind the hill in this photo. From high points in this open space, there is a magnificent view of Boney Mountain to the southeast.
