The December 4th Where in the Conejo contest photo was of the Wishbone Trail

Published by Steve Clark on

Congratulations to Barbara Welch of Westlake Village who provided the correct answer and was selected as the winner. Thanks to all who entered the contest!

The Wishbone Trail starts at the west end of the Westlake Village Community Park and climbs 1.2 miles to the Saddle Pass Trail. From there it reverses direction and drops 0.6 miles back to the Community Park. The photo shows parts of both legs of the trail, but Saddle Pass Trail is not visible. Short pieces of both ends of the trail are in LA County and so it serves to connect the Westlake Village park to the Conejo Open Space.

The trail was built by volunteers after the COSCA rangers laid out the route. Construction was started in May 2018. It was completed only after a number of separate events for general volunteers, university students and corporate volunteer days.

You can view photos of the initial construction work in this blog post.
