The March 27 Where in the Conejo Contest photo was of the Los Padres Trail

Congratulations to Cynthia Calverley  of Thousand Oaks who provided the correct answer and was selected as the winner. Thanks to all who responded!

The Los Padres Trail begins on Los Padres Drive a short distance from Moorpark Road. It passes through an oak forest for a half mile, then climbs steeply to join a fire road. From there it continues up a gentle hill until it reaches Los Robles Trail (East). It’s total length is 1.1 miles. The whole Los Padres Trail is within the Los Padres Open Space area.

Because of the oak canopy, this area has earned the nickname “Sherwood Forest” by some local residents. Our page on the Los Robles area includes some hikes that include the Los Padres Trail that you might want to try.
